36 Weeks & 4 days

I had a scheduled appointment today with my dr. at 8:45 today. Well I didn't leave until 1pm. So my blood pressure once again is elevated and they tested it like 10 times at the docs office and it was 140/90...yep a little high. So they decided to send me over to the hospital to be monitored and have a bunch of tests run after an ultrasound to take bio measurements of baby.

Its definitely a girl. No question about that. At 36 weeks she is measuring what they said was a little big.....7lbs already. Eek. Thats how much Nicholas weighed when he was born at 38 weeks. I'm already 3 cm dilated. Holy frijolies is pretty much what I said, but I shouldn't be surprised w/ all the contractions I've been having the last week or so. Especially over the weekend. I think its safe to say I will not be making it to March 18th. So they took me to the hospital and hooked me up to everything, contraction monitor and baby monitor. She is looking perfectly healthy. Good strong heart beat and good movement. and I'm actually having fairly regular contractions. Nothing to write home about, but I suspect when this little girl is ready, I'm going to need a fast track to the hospital. Anyway they monitored me, took blood and everything started looking good. They didn't let me eat or drink anything until the test results came back just in case they decided to induce me. That was awful. I was starving and I was already thirsty when I went into the drs office at 8:30. Then on top of it all, I forgot my book and anything to DO. Luckily Beverly Hills Chiuwawa was on, I must say it was a cute movie. Sad, I was sitting there all by myself w/ nothing to do giggling at the silliest movie.
So all the tests came back and my blood pressure is still a BIT high, but better than what it was. They sent me home but I'm now on bed rest. Not sure what that means, but I'm my world, I don't do bed rest. So I guess I have to really try hard for this little girl. I've already had trouble "resting". I kinda needed to pack my hospital bag and dinner doesn't cook itself.
I have an appt on Thursday where I will be full term and I guess if my blood pressure is still elevated they may go ahead and induce. i guess its not that bad considering she is technically measuring full term anyway. Better this way b/c if we waited until the due date she may very well be a 10 pounder....Ahhhh!!!

Record Snowfall in North Texas

So according to the news the 12.5 inches of snow we received yesterday is the most snow fall in quite a while. Broke the record set in 1964. I have to say, I've never seen this much snow in Texas. And I've never been able to build a snowman more than 6 inches tall in Texas. It was a record day all around!

My parents came over to help Nicholas build his first snow man.

Here he is carrying his bucket of snow over to make his snow man.

Posing with his snowman

Daddy thought that a pizza pan would be something fun to slide around on, but seriously there are no hills. Didn't work, but for shoveling snow, it was perfect.
Puppies were loving it too. Penny makes me laugh, the snow was up the her belly, but she just kept prancing around.

Before we went to bed, some of the trees in the yard were....well REALLY droopy with the weight of the snow.

Yep, this one is touching the ground, these are Crepe Myrtles. Should not be touching the ground. HA!
